  • Congratulations to the Silver Spurs 4-H Junior Hippology team (Laruen VanderVeen, Alyssa Ballew, Dakotah Van Huss) for placing  4th in the State! And Dakotah placed 8th high point individual in state! Julie is the Ellis County 4-H Hippology coach.
  • Woohoo! We are excited to announce another World Championship for the Flying Dollar Ranch. A big congratulations to student Jennifer Alexander and A Wizard Spell Fiona on winning their 2nd consecutive World Championship title in Trail at the Gypsy Registry of America World Championships held during the 2011 Fort Worth Stock Show! Also, we are very proud of FDR student Chesley Hinds on riding Fiona to a Reserve World Championship in Youth Western Walk Trot. Fiona also had numerous top 6 placings in halter classes.

  • Congratulations to Julie’s cousin, Sarah Kate Grider, for winning her 5th World Championship in reining/cowhorse at the 2011 World Championship Paint Horse Show!
  • Congratulations to the Silver Spurs of Ellis County success at the Johnson Co 4-H Horse Judging competition held in the Diamond W Arena in Alvarado on January 15. Our "super star" was Brooke Lewis in the Junior level who won 1st Individual Performance, 1st in Team Performance, 1st Overall Individual, 1st in Overall Team, 9th in Individual Halter, and 2nd Halter Team! Julie Hinz won a coaches award and won the Adult Judging Jackpot. Alyssa Ballew and DJ Rhody were on the 2nd place Intermediate Halter Team.
  • Congratulations to Sadie Hinz and FDR lessons horse Mighty Special for winning the 2011 ECEA Walk & Whoa Champion buckle!
  • Congratulations to FDR student  Makenna Van Huss and her horse "Girlfriend" for earning the 2011 ECEA Reserve Champion Walk & Who award.
  • Congratulations to Julie Hinz and Mighty Sassy Thing for winning the 2011 ECEA Reserve Championship in Junior Mares at Halter and placing in the Top 5 in Green Horse.
  • Congratulations to FDR student Courtney Griffith and FDR lesson horse Elite Party Girl for winning the 2011 ECEA Reserve Championship in English and Western events.
  • Congratulations to FDR student Emily Hammock and her horse Playboy for placing in the 2011 Top 5 of ECEA Western events.
  • Congratulations to FDR student Alyssa Ballew and her horse Goose for placing in the 2011 Top 5 of ECEA in English and Western events.
  • Congratulations to FDR owner Sandy Neal for placing in the 2011 Top 5 of ECEA in Walk/Trot Open Division.
  • Congratulations for FDR student Dakotah Van Huss and her horse Partial to Roses for winning the 2011 ECEA Open Walk/ Trot Division Championship buckle!
  • Congratulations to Julie and her 2-year-old gelding Zippo E Nuff (a rescue baby adopted from Never E Nuff Acres in Waxahachie) for winning the 2011 ECEA Reserve Champion Junior Gelding.
